How to change DNS server when using a router?

I have an ADSL router and when i was installing comodo firewall, it asked to changed the DNS server to something else. I answered yes. but is it really possible to do without changing router settings from the router configuration page?

if yes, does that means i have to change it manually?|||If the COMODO firewall is just used on your machine, you can change your machines DNS settings without changing the routers dns... its under advanced settings in the TCP/IP section of your network adapter. Your computer has a setting for the DNS to use. Running off a router it is usually set to the routers IP, but it does not have to be.

Here is how for Windows XP

Vista and Win 7 are very similar as well.

Linux sets the DNS in the resolv.conf file on your local machine as well.

You will need to login to the router to change the routers DNS. Usually that is no big deal.|||hi

yes i am afraid it does this sounds like a bit of a hoax, the router applies for connection using the isp%26#039;s DNS server. Are you going to change your ISP
